Research

AADHum continues to deepen its commitments to broadening the landscape of Black digital humanities, while also highlighting the numerous places where Black DH intersects with electronic literature, digital storytelling, computational poetics, and public humanities more generally. Through our own boundary-pushing research collaborations with leading scholars in the arts and humanities, AADHum serves as a vibrant center for Black DH research both in the greater Washington, DC area as well as nationally and internationally.

Stories of Sudan

Stories of Sudan tells the untold narratives of Sudanese people impacted by war and displacement to raise awareness of Sudan’s ongoing crisis. It shows how Sudanese people have managed to survive after losing their home. Anchored in conversations with Basmah’s parents about their experiences living in Sudan, this project encourages actionable support for Sudan while honoring her roots and family’s stories. This project embodies a call to action, inviting viewers to connect, reflect, and contribute to ending the war. By blending personal and collective narratives, it stands as a testament to memory and the transformative power of storytelling.
